Thule 997 Goal Post Hitch Mount Truck Adapter for Thule Canoe and Kayak Carriers Review
The Thule Goalpost Adjustable Watersport Carrier is a hitch receiver based system that combines with your truck's existing front load bar to easily haul canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, sailboards and more. It is compatible with 2-inch hitch receivers and possesses an anti-sway, multi strap design for stable, more secure transport in all driving and road conditions. Additional features include a telescoping mast assembly that allows for use on most any pickup, vertical load stop attachments to prevent side-to-side movement of cargo and a limited lifetime warranty.
Designed for use with pickup trucks, the Thule Goalpost Adjustable Watersport Carrier allows you to transport different sized kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, boats and sailboards to and from your destination. Connecting to your truck's 2-inch hitch receiver (1¼-inch receivers not supported), the Goalpost serves as the back support section of a transport system, with front support coming by way of your truck's existing cab load bar. Canoes are aerodynamically transported hull side up on these two load bars, while when transporting kayaks, the Goalpost can be use with either Thule Hydro-Glide or Set-To-Go saddles (sold separately), which cradle kayak hulls at the front and rear, allowing for maximum support and ease of loading and unloading of boats without causing scratches or warping.
Assuming an existing load bar, the Goalpost can be used on and between a variety of trucks, regardless of their height. This is possible through the Goalpost's telescoping mast which adjusts to a range of truck cab heights in seconds via its pin secured connection to the the unit's 2-inch hitch stinger section. The 58-inch Thule steel load bar provided with the Thule Goalpost has a durable plastic coating, which protects it from damaging friction with loaded items and comes with two vertical load stop attachments. These attachments give the unit its namesake goalpost look, and when firmly secured provide easily adjustable barriers that keep loaded canoes or other haulable cargo like lumber, pipes and tubing from sliding from side to side while in transit. Finally, the Goalpost's hitch connection was created with an anti-sway design for a more stable, more secure transport as well as 2 load straps that connect its center mast assembly to your rear bumper at either sides to help stabilize and hold the load.

Thule will warranty all Thule brand car rack systems and its accessories manufactured by Thule during the time that an original retail purchaser owns the product. This warranty terminates if a purchaser transfers the product to any other person. No warranty is given for defects caused by normal wear and tear, cosmetic rust, scratches, accidents, unlawful vehicle operation, or modification of, or any types of repair of a load carrier system other than those authorized by Thule.
Thule was founded in 1942 by the Thulin family, when Eric Thulin, a true lover of the outdoors, put the Thule name on a pike trap he designed and began to sell in Scandinavia. It wasn't long before he added other practical items to the company's portfolio. By the 1960s, the company began to concentrate on car-related products, including its first roof rack. The Thulin family sold Thule to the publicly listed company Eldon in 1979, and it has continued to grow both organically and through acquisitions ever since. The Thule Group is a world leader in providing transport solutions for an active life.

Sevylor Inflatable Colorado Hunting and Fishing Canoe, 2-Person Review
The Colorado is comfortable enough for daylong trips thanks to the pair of flexible, elevated bucket seats, which also include storage compartments in the back. To help you get around, the boat features directional strakes for maximum steering control. And as with all Sevylor boats, the Colorado's exclusive Airtight system is guaranteed not to leak. Other details include Double-Lock valves that prevent accidental air loss, removable stern storage, built-in carrying handles, paddle/oar holders, D-rings and tie downs, and a nylon carrying bag. Certified by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), the two-person Colorado measures 10 feet 9 inches by 3 feet 1 inch, holds up to 500 pounds, and carries a one-year warranty.
About Sevylor
The road from Sevylor's founding in 1948 to its current role as the dominant supplier of a wide range of inflatables--such as kayaks, boats, and towables--is a long one, with plenty of original inventions and innovations along the way. Established in a city suburb of Vitry, France, by electronics engineer Berco Grimbert, Sevylor originally built electrical accessories, with a sideline business dedicated to using its high-frequency welding machines to manufacture PVC consumer goods. The first inflatable to receive rave notice was a small bathtub called the Dou Dou. Perfect for postwar France, the inflatable tub was portable, convenient, practical, easy to clean, durable, and, best of all, affordable.
After moving to the picturesque Alsatian village of Buhl, the company expanded into developing valves, pumps, boats, inflatable pools, and a variety of water toys. In the ensuing years, Sevylor first developed a PVC that had "memory"--meaning it could return to its original shape regardless of temperature--and then made history by releasing an inflatable pool mattress with a headrest and circular pockets. In 1986, the company invented the Ski Bob, a real turning point in the evolution of the towables business. Today, Sevylor's innovative designs include tenders, hunting and fishing boats, specialty boats and kayaks, towables, snow tubes, air beds, pool floats, river tubes, swim and sport rings, and more. The Sevylor Colorado Inflatable Canoe combines the stability, maneuverability and sea-worthiness of a kayak with the comfort, styling and familiarity of the traditional North American canoe. Measuring 10'9" long by 3'1" wide, the Colorado's raised bow and stern and double-hull construction make it extra-rugged and rigid, so it's ideal for rough waters, lakes, ocean, fishing and diving. This two-person canoe holds up to 500 pounds; it's made of durable 18-gauge PVC with a 420D nylon cover and a rugged, fabric-reinforced bottom. It features directional strakes for maximum steering control, and built-in oar holders. The elevated bucket seats have storage compartments in back, while the canoe also features removable stern storage. D-rings and tie-downs provide a handy place to attach extra gear. A convenient nylon carry bag is included. Guaranteed not to leak, thanks to Sevylor's exclusive Airtight System, the kayak's Double-Lock Valves prevent accidental air loss and ensure quick, easy inflation and deflation. NMMA certified.

Paddleboy Nemo Canoe & Kayak Cart Review
The Nemo cart pulls canoes or kayaks as heavy as 400 pounds. |
Other features include a powder-coated aluminum frame with a hammertone finish, an axle-free design, and a collapsible frame that conveniently disassembles into four pieces without tools. The Nemo measures 20 by 11 inches (W x H), weighs 8 pounds, and carries a one-year warranty. Paddleboy also sells a line of end carts, which manage less weight but are easier and quicker to load.
About Paddleboy
The very first Paddleboy cart was born out of pure selfish concern. In 1995, dedicated paddler Brian Witt struggled to transport his canoes and kayaks across the park and down to the water. As any paddler without a cart knows, this kind of lugging uses energy that should be reserved for paddling. Witt knew there had to be a better way, so he designed a prototype cart that became the essence of every canoe and kayak enthusiast's dream: less lugging and more paddling. Today, Paddleboy Designs--located in Seattle, Washington--is the only watercraft cart manufacturer to offer both end and center carts, as well as one of the most supportive, competent dealer networks in the country.
The Nemo, built with an aluminum frame, carries up to 250 pounds. Like the Heavy Lifter, a double-leg kickstand folds out to steady the cart for loading. Easy to store, the Nemo breaks down into 4 parts for convenient hatch storage. The new Quick-Release Wheel System allows for quick, easy mounting and dismounting of wheels without the need for keeper pins.
